Zirbad is a pleasant boat, devoted to adventures and adventurers.
This name literally means "the lands beneath the wind", a derivate of the Persian term Zirbàded and it was given by the sailors and explorers trading in Asian spices to the islands in South Asia between Malaysia and Papua.
Zirbad was handmade in Bira, South Sulawesi, in conjunction with local artisans and launched in 2010 after almost two years of work.
Inspired by the design of traditional one mast Indonesian fishing boats, called "Perahu Lambo", Zirbad is a beautiful and simple 18-meter sailing vessel made of tropical wood: iron wood for the hull, bitti wood for the structure and teak wood for the deck. She is light and fast.
In the past two years she has sailed the majority of the Indonesian seas. Her shallow draught allows her to explore the most remote coves and get very close to shore.
The small capacity of the boat makes cruises aboard Zirbad particularly friendly and cozy. This is the perfect alternative for groups of friends or family who can easily charter the whole boat and customize every detail of the trip to have the most unforgettable private experience in the Indonesian archipelago
Zirbad can accommodate 6 guests in a shared cabin equipped with two double beds and two single beds. Each bed has a skylight above it, which affords guests a view of the stars. A special set-up for couples joins the two double beds offering an extra wide bed. A shared bathroom with WC, shower and washbasin is located in the guest area.
The aft offers a protected area perfect for relaxing, enjoying the ocean and having meals together at a central table. On the top deck there is a large space perfect for sunbathing and for enjoying the sunset. A separate area hosts a galley, navigation area and the three crew bunks.
Solar panels provide enough 12v power for navigations instruments, lights and our music system. Zirbad has many USB power outlets available for recharging guests devices as well as a small inverter to provide a small quantity of 220v power. No noise or pollution from a generator will bother life on board. .
The prices are per day and include a cruise, full board (three meals per day, snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks), and two-way transfer from/to the airport. Rates do not include port clearance (20€ per person), National Parks fees, alcoholic beverages and tips for the crew.
Please remember that we don't accept payments by credit card, we only accept cash (Indonesian Rupias and Euros) or bank transfer. All payments will be converted to the local currency (Indonesian Rupiah) in accordance with today's billing rate.
