ARCHITECTURE

Coral Eye Bangka offers all guests simplicity, relaxation and blissful comfort in a dynamic space where social areas, work spaces and private zones merge seamlessly.

Designed by Studio ARC.S Milano, the central structure was crafted to integrate with the surrounding environment.

The project has evolved slowly and naturally during two years of building, maintaining a constructive and human exchange between knowledge and techniques belonging to two different worlds whilst mutually learning from each other.

Together with a team of local artisans and local workers through a wise use of local materials and techniques we created a modern and avant-garde structure that offers guests the comfort they need without negatively affecting the surrounding environment. A respectful distance from the shore and the use of natural materials for the insulation of the roof make the structure almost invisible from the sea, minimizing its impact on the surrounding landscape.

Particular attention during the design phase was made to the use of air circulation to refresh the rooms. The conical roof covered with leaves, the separation of the cubes and the double cavities of the walls create a continuous circulation of fresh air.

COMMON AREAS

A large square table in the center of the space is the core element around which the project unfolds and the social life of the resort revolves around.

It is located in a comfortable, convivial and spacious open space that guests can share at any time of the day, finding shelter from the tropical elements under the large roof.

The ground floor also houses the other common areas: a bar, a small library, two multi functional room and a souvenir shop. Our office, the kitchen and other technical rooms are also located around this floor.

On the first floor, where the six superior rooms are located, there is a large terrace that overlooks the ocean, a perfect space to relax after a long day of diving or exploration around Bangka Island. A workstation for study or individual work is located on one side of the terrace.
