Where nature and tradition meet.

Would you like to explore beyond the coastline and connect with local life on Bangka Island?
Join us on a guided walk to Lihunu, the island’s largest village and home to over a thousand people, many of whom are fishermen or work in nearby resorts.

The walk begins from the back of Coral Eye along a forest path. Surrounded by a mix of lush vegetation and areas used by locals for small-scale harvesting and accompanied by birdsong, it’s a gentle introduction to the inland ecosystem.

After about 45 minutes, we’ll arrive in Lihunu from the southern side, crossing a small bridge that opens onto village life. You’ll find colorful homes, children eager to greet visitors, and the warm smiles of local farmers and families. Our guide will introduce you to the rhythm of Lihunu and its community spaces, such as the harbour, the school, and its traditional churches — a reflection of North Sulawesi’s Christian heritage.

For those who feel like continuing, the trail goes uphill from the village, leading to a panoramic viewpoint above the bay. The climb is short but steep and offers a rewarding view over the island and the surrounding volcanic landscape. For others, a shaded rest with fresh local fruit offers the perfect moment to relax and soak it all in.
